Conference “Digitization and Intellectual Property: The End or the New Beginning?”

Organized by the Institute for Public Policy, sponsored by m:tel, a conference titled “Digitization and intellectual property: the end or a new beginning?” was held in Banja Luka on June 17, 2019.

Aquarius full-service agency was responsible for complete organization and production of this event – space branding, audio and video production, production of promotional material, gift packages and catering.

The main goal of the conference was launching discussions on challenges brought about by the era of the Internet revolution in the field of intellectual property. It was also the first event of its kind held in Banja Luka.

Through three panel discussions: “The Media Monopoly in the Western Balkans: What is the Role of the State”, “Intellectual Property and Telecommunications Today” and “Copyright and Contemporary Piracy”, more than 100 participants discussed the importance and mechanisms of protection of intellectual property. Several hours of discussion resulted in conclusion that only by better legal solutions could intellectual property be fully protected.

Among the participants were the Prime Ministers of Serbia and Republika Srpska, Ana Brnabić and Radovan Višković, Minister of Education, Science and Technological Development in the Government of Serbia Mladen Šarčević, Minister of Scientific and Technological development, Higher Education and Information Society of Republika Srpska Srđan Rajčević, Minister for European Integration and International Cooperation in the Government of the Republika Srpska Zlatan Klokić, Former Secretary General of the Regional Cooperation Council Goran Svilanović, Telecom Group Coordinator for the Internet and Multimedia Group Vladimir Lučić, and Marketing and Sales Director of m:tel Radmila Bojanić.
